Does Your Church Talk A Lot About Money?

At Pierpont we teach the whole counsel of the Word of God. That means that where the Bible addresses issues related to money, we talk about those issues. We understand that the Bible teaches us that giving of our finances to the church is an act of worship to our living Lord.

Just as the Magi in the Christmas story gave gifts to the baby Jesus out of reverence and worship, so we too offer Him our gifts as a visible sign of our love and devotion. When you visit with us, you will see that there is no pressure applied to you to give money to our church.

I Don't Know Much About The Bible. Will I Feel Uncomfortable?

Extensive Bible knowledge is not necessary for you to worship at Pierpont. On most occasions, the Bible verses that we study are projected onto large video screens so that everyone can see them and understand them. In his sermons, our pastor explains the Bible in ways that we can all understand and helps us apply it to our everyday lives.

If I Visit Your Church, Will I Have People Knocking On My Door The Next Day?

We hope that when you visit with us you will feel "right at home". It is our desire to personally welcome you and answer any questions you might have regarding our ministries. It is our promise to you that no one will show up at your home unexpectedly.

If you fill out our guest registration, we will contact you by telephone to thank you for being our guest at worship and to see if we can answer any questions you might have. If you would like to have someone from one of our Outreach Teams or our Church Staff visit with you, we will give you that opportunity and make an appointment at your convenience.

What Does Pierpont Baptist Church Believe About Baptism?

We believe that baptism is an ordinance of the church which serves as an outward symbol of an inward change that has taken place in a person's heart. As people place their faith and trust in Jesus Christ as Lord of their lives, the first act of obedience to Him is to follow through in baptism. Baptism is not necessary for someone to experience salvation. It is a public expression to the body of Christ that Jesus has changed someone's heart and given them new life. It is also a public physical profession that we believe in the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ.

Can Anyone Take Communion At Pierpont Baptist Church?

We believe that communion (partaking in the Lord's Supper) is a special ordinance of the church which serves to keep us constantly reminded of the sacrificial death of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, for our sins. This is a special event that only has meaning to those who have placed their faith and trust in Him as Savior and Lord of their lives. As a result, communion at Pierpont is open only to all believers, regardless of church affiliation.

How Can Someone Join Pierpont Baptist Church?

You can begin the process of joining Pierpont by responding publicly during an open invitation in one of our services, or by indicating such a desire one of our guest registration forms, which are included in our Sunday morning Worship Program. One of our ministerial staff will contact you and direct you to one of our New/Prospective Members Courses.

In these 4-week courses you will learn about our doctrinal beliefs and church structure. You will also take a tour of our facilities, have the opportunity to receive answers to any questions, and receive a free and personalized spiritual gifts survey. At the conclusion of the course, you will be presented publicly to our church family as official new members.

We receive new members in one of three ways:

    1. BY BAPTISM (on being baptized in Pierpont Baptist Church)
    2. BY LETTER (transfer of membership letter from another Christian church)
    3. BY STATEMENT (no church membership letter exists and baptism has already taken place)
